Sled Dogs?

Hey pupper-duppers! It's me, Stormy. Since Dave mentioned that "Siberian list" yesterday that we're on with some of our pals and their bipeds, I thought I'd bring up a topic that's currently in discussion there. A lot of the bipeds are talking about sleds or carts for their "dogs". Biped chatter about which model would be best, what make has the best brakes, whether to get a sled or a cart... blah, blah, blah.
But the thought of the whole thing was a bit intriguing, so I got out one of my catalogues and did some checking.

This one is from Black Ice. They had all kinds of sleds in here. Cool gear, too.

Hmm. It got me to thinking. I'd look really cute sitting in ANY of these! Seriously! What's the big decision?
Now to find the right harnesses for mom and dad.....

Tail wags, everypup!

  1. Hey Stormy!

Our bipeds got us a scooter this summer and our very own harnesses! We weren't sure what to do when they hooked us up, so dad had to run along with us so we could figure out what to do. I think it was more fun for the humans than it was for us, cuz I think we were a little afraid it was going to run over us. What we'd really like better is a snow sled! But, we'd have to actually get some SNOW first!

  2. oooooh I would love to have a go on a sled! This sounds like real good fun.....A while back Jeannie and I went to an Agricultural Show and there were some very Handsome Huskies there, with a Sled.

I was soooooooooooo over excited at the very thought of it!

What adventures you Four could have!

My Mom used to have a sled when she owned 3 Samoyeds. She took them out once and it was a disaster. She spent more time untangling them than running. So she didn't do it again, ha ha. She's such a wuss.

  4. Hey Stormy,

Frosty here...I've got bad news for you...we're supposed PULL these scooters/carts/sleds. Now, I personally think it's a great deal of fun and get to go out in front and boss everyone around. It's the only time I'm the boss of everyone, so I LOVE it. But sitting in the sled or cart? That'd be really boring...really.

Here are some pictures of me and the rest of my team (well, Momma left Ryder and The Baby at home) last weekend. http://www.picturetrail.com/kaossiberians

It was TONS of fun and I discovered that when I pull the toys...I get more food! I don't see a downside to that!

  6. Marvin: Wouldn't it be fun to ride in a sled?
Zach: My mom thinks any attempt at us 4 pulling her in a sled would end up at the Emergency Room. How does she know where we'd pull her?
Frosty: Umm... you're kidding, right? Ha roo! No, I'm all for running - so is Amber. It's the boys who really don't think it's a good idea. Does Ryder pull sleds or carts?

  7. Hey there Stormy,

the picture of you there so comfortable on the bed while contemplating the harnesses and sleds catalogue and all the associated hard work were as opposite as the north and south poles.

Ummmmm wait, that doesn't work. They're opposite but both as cold as each other.

Anyway. It's hard for me to imagine pulling a sled in snow, considering I've never even seen snow and I like to be warm. (My ma has seen plenty of snow, of course.)

    Chow for now,

  8. Don't you need more parents to make up a full sledding team in harness?

  9. Sounds like you have your lead pair--how many more people do you need to pull the four of you? My people have friends who have 21 sled dogs. ONe summer when my people were visiting them, they hooked them all up to an ATV and pulled the four people. That was before my people had any dogs at all and they were completely wow'ed by the idea of working dogs---that's ultimately how they ended up will all us border collies.

Let me know if you get the people trained to pull--we'd like to know how to get them to bring us the sheep once in a while.

    See ya

  11. Hey Stormy,
Pass that catalog along. I'm thinking that a sled for The Mom to pull me and some select toys and friends would be a wonderful thing!

  12. Hey Stormy! Dad said since it's suppose to be so warm this weekend (isn't it almost December?) that we could get the scooter out and maybe get some pics of dad running along with us and the scooter. Should be interesting........

  16. woe is me! Marvin The Ubiquitous....I have been trying to click on AO4 Flickr pics and it won't work!!

I want to read Dave's Haiki Woo, the new one he told me about!

How do I do this now on your shiny new site?

We have been havin' such larks today on the computer.....Jeannie would like to throw it out of the window, but I have calmed her down now. Our photos were not downloading and we have had to reinstall something or other.

Okay now though! Let us know how to view the Haiki Wooooooo!

  17. Marvin: :) I thought the Flickr badge took you to our Flickr site, but I guess not. Hmm. I'll put a link in somehow later. But under "our links" toward the top of the page, there's a link to Dave's Haik-woo. That one should work - I just tested it.

  18. Tin Tin: There was a certain amount of irony in those pix, wasn't there?
Buster: Good point. I was hoping Holly's dad could help. Maybe Dakota's mom, too.
Pippin: Ha roo! Wouldn't it only be fair if your bipeds herded you up a sheep or two?
    Fu Fu: Thanks!
Dakota: Will do! And what a great idea to bring toys in the cart with us!
Holly: Hope you share those pix! :)
T-man: I was picturing how cool I'd look in one of those sleds!
Floss: Thanks! We thought since you were basically ignoring your mom in that video that you had one some Siberian in you. It's something we'd do. :)
    Peony: Will do!
Dachsies: That sounds pretty good. Except the boys would want to ride, too. Us girls like to run a lot more than those two layabouts ... um I mean more than our brothers do. :)
