Veteran's Day 2006

It's Veteran's Day, everypuppy. Originally called "Armistice Day", we now have Veteran's Day here in the US to honor those who have served and are serving our country in uniform. Today we especially honor our combat veterans. Please take time to remember these brave men and women today. On behalf of the Army of Four, to our Veterans (especially our favorite - our dad!): THANK YOU! We treasure and honor you and your service, and will never forget what you've done for our nation.
Love,
Amber

Thank your Dad for his service please from us too in the UK. There was a 2 minute silence today throughout the whole country here in the UK.

It is so strange when everything falls quiet even in the busy shops and supermarkets, and shopping malls. Very moving. I noticed so many young people nowadays taking part.

My Daddy went away to Viet Nam. He says he got there the day after the Thet Offensive and the streets were lined with stacks of body bags.

    We salute our fallen heroes.

My Mom and Dad are BOTH veterans! Me and Chani agreed not to give them any grief today as our way of thanking them.

  8. Our mom's step dad is a Viet Nam veteran, and my step-sister Abby's original dad is still in the military and is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm when our mom and him were married and stationed in Japan (that's where our cat Kirby is from, he's 17 now), so salutes and special thoughts from the Furry Five in Omaha.

  13. Mom was married to a marine before she got us. He was in Desert Storm. That was one of the last things he did while they were still married. Mom says she may not be with him anymore but her heart will always be with those in uniform. Tell your dad we all thank him for his service (and your mom for her sacrifices).

  14. Thanks, Andy, Sammy and Roxie! Mom taught me how to say "Hoo-ah" like a soldier ... but Dave says "ooh-rah" like a Marine. Strange, huh?
Will do on mom and dad!
