Happy Columbus Day!

Ha roo, pups! Zim here! A happy Columbus Day to all! How cool is it to think about Christopher Columbus landing here in the New World back in 1492! What a discovery!

Speaking of discoveries, I learned a whole lot about my cool friends through the interviews that I did with them! Please check their blogs! I interviewed:
Marvin - read all about about sit-down here
Sitka & Tia
Louka
Chili (from Bama's River Hill Pack!) - click here for that interview!
Madie & China - see their interview here
Holly - she posted her interview here
Star & Jack - the CyberSibes posted their interview at this link
Guinness of Guinness & Shiloh - at the Stoutino Inn & Foster Kennel - her interview is here
Prince & Summer - Team Husky posted their interview here
Maddox
Check out their cool interviews; Sitka & Tia, Louka, and Maddox will post their responses shortly! And remember, if you haven't been interviewed and would like to be, drop one of them a note!

OH! And our friends at Team Husky have an interesting poll in the sidebar of their blog! They are asking "Which member of the AO4 likes cuddles the most?" Ha roo, that's so cool! Stop by and vote!

I've made an interesting discovery right here, pups! You aren't going to believe it! I was walking Mom down the street the other evening - just me and Mom. It was great. Then I had this really weird sensation ... sort of like the feeling you get watching a Hitchcock movie, you know? So I turned around ...

Whoa! Look at all those birdies!

Can you see 'em? THOUSANDS of birdies! Swooping around and talking! Here are some sky shots; it was hard to get their pictures - they wouldn't hold still!

Here's one guy on his own.

I had never seen birdies like this before! I asked Mom what they were and you aren't going to BELIEVE what she said! "Seagulls, Zimmie! It's a flock of seagulls." WHAT!?!?!? Oh... no, she didn't mean a Flock of Seagulls, that 80s band with the wild hair-dos. She meant a real flock of real seagull birdies -- you know, like all my friends who have oceans see all the time! This can only mean one thing! The ocean is on its way. Don't you think? Ha! And no one thought I'd be able to have an ocean in Kansas!

I better find Oswald and tell him to raise the rent in his condos - we're going to have beachfront property! HA ROOOOO!

Play bows and surf's up (almost) -
Zim

  3. Whoa! That's unbelievable! The ocean MUST be on it's way! Will there be sand to dig in too? I think I'd better start shopping for surfboards. And I need to learn how to Hang 10....or whatever they call it.

  4. mmmmmm! Sea gulls.....do you know what they taste like?

The Ocean coming to Kansas, well it all sounds a wee bit "fishy" to me!

oooops, sorry about that silly joke, Zim, I hope Amber likes it!

    love and licks, Marvin xxxxx

  5. It would have been really scary if an '80s band with weird hair had been right behind you. I see seagulls here all the time, but I suppose I am closer to the ocean than you are.

Wow Zim! Those birds look cool. Were you able to ask them any questions as they flew by??? Oh, I finally finished my blog for today with the tag by you and Storm :)

  7. Oh, Zim!

Northern dogs especially should not fall for the human joke of celebrating Columbus Day today.

Today is a foney baloney holiday for a foney baloney explorer!

The Americas were discovered more than 500 years earlier than 1492! By Northern people!

Tomorrow is the real holiday - Leif Erikson Day!

Can your Mom get you a Viking helmet? It could be Talk Like a Viking Day! :-)

  8. Oops, I forgot. Be sure to get a Viking name for Leif Erikson Day!

  9. Holly: Come on down!

    Cubby: It was totally weird!

Kat: No, but they kept swooping around all over the place! Stormy almost caught a swallow in mid-flight once. Amber made a great joke about how swallows got their name. Ha roo roo roo.

Echo: I hope it's coming with a beach! Won't that be cool?
Wouldn't we hang 20? Or in my case 18 - since I don't have dew claws? Wow, surfing is confusing!

Marvin: "Fishy"!?!? Ha roo roo roo! We all liked that one!

Magnum: We're thousands of miles from the oceans - what are those seagulls DOING here? It can only mean I'll have my very own ocean in no time!
Mom's got that "And I Ran" song stuck in her head. I hope it goes away soon. She's singing. Out loud.

Sitka: I asked them if the ocean was coming but they just honked at me. I guess I was in their way?
I'll be right over to your blog!

Tucker: Mom and Dad say I look enough like that Snert puppy in the Hagar the Horrible comic already. Imagine if I had one of those hats on! That being said ... Happy Leif Erikson Day!

    Play bows,

  10. Zim, those birds are freakin us out! We don't even see them at our house and we are much closer to the ocean than you are. Weird.

We are very glad that you liked our interview answers. An interview is only as good as it's Interviewer - move over Barbara Walters! Zimmie is taking over the View~

  13. It's Columbus day where you are? Here it's thanksgiving, so happy thanksgiving! My friends here at DWB are one of the things I give thanks for.

Seagulls are fun to try and chase and eat! They're evil, though. They hang around dumpsters and glare and squawk a lot. We live on an island, so we have lots of them. Eeeeeeeeeeevil.

But I can try and send you more if you want. Get rid of the ones here.

  14. You have the ocean coming. Wow. Those seagulls are up to something. You have to keep us posted. We live close to the lake and don't see that many of those birds. How did they get to Kansas? Hmmm.

  16. WOW, seagulls in Kansas!! We get seagulls in Mountain Top, PA, every March, but we are a lot closer to the ocean than you are. Boy, are they ever lost! Think they're from the Atlantic or the Pacific? Probably from the Gulf, the way the winds have been blowing all that heat up to us lately.

  17. Guinness & Shiloh: They're freaking ME out, too!
You know what's funny ... Stormy can actually SAY "Barbara Walters" in English! Ha roo roo roo! Plain as day!

Joe: They better not get my magic beans!!!

GG: Nah, they won't go after Oswald. But the hawks and other large birds like that will! But Os is really careful! And Amber's protecting him.

Louka: HAppy Thanksgiving!!! Did you get to eat a special meal?

Maya Marie: I don't know WHY they're here! We're land-locked! Storm said maybe we're on a migratory route and they're here eating grain from the fields. She's really smart, so she could be right. I have to go look up "migratory route".

Ruby: COOL! I can't wait to hear what you came up with!

    Koobie: It's FREAKY, isn't it?

    Play bows,
    Zim
