I saw a cat over in our neighbor's driveway yesterday - he ran off as soon as he saw the four of us and our bipeds come out of the house. I think it was the orange cat I used to like (well... maybe I still do, but I don't TRUST him!), but I'm not sure. Dave said he was probably caught in the act of spying on us and that's why he took off so fast. MayBE!
So THEN guess what's been hanging out over there? A Great Blue Heron! Here he is:
What in the WORLD is he doing here? We've seen the occasional one down by Little Kitten Creek, but not up here! What's he doing here?
Like the cat, he took off once he saw us.
Yes... "like the cat." Hmm. That can only mean one thing. He's a spy in cahoots with the C(un)IA.
We're increasing security around the house. Here I am, making sure this wall stays up. You just never know.
Be on the lookout for spies, everypup. They're everywhere.
Play bows,
Zim

ReplyDeleteSome cat actually came up to the living room window and looked at me while I was lying behind my Human! It was maybe a foot from me with only the window pane separating us!
ReplyDeleteHey Pippen, just caught up with your Blog via the AO4!
ReplyDeleteI dislike cats very, very much. I was scratched by one of the pesky things once on my black nose, and it was so so sore!
Don't trust them!
licks, Marvin xxxx
ooops! sorry Army of Four! Left a comment by mistake on yours which was meant for Pippen's Blog!
ReplyDeleteA Senior Moment Jeannie says!
We saw the heron in the photo on your roof, we didn't think it was real at first! In England they put straw herons on the thatched roofs of the cottages sometimes when they finish the roofs! Pheasants in straw as well, funny lot!!
love and licks Marvin xxxx will try and find Pippin's Blog now, will have to have words with my Editor In Chief!
This is Commander Bowie,
ReplyDeleteYou silly doggies. You have puppy brains if you think you can stop us! We are everywhere.
Mwa! Ha! Ha!
This is Commander Bowie, again.
ReplyDeleteI must get a message to the cats who own Malechai and Macie. Arwen is tracking our communication signal, and we can't send a direct message to you on blogger. Now, she's wooing to her packmates for reinforcement. I must hurry!
Keep up the good work! The CIA welcomes all cats to join forces against the Hula Hoop! Let me compliment you on sending "the bait" into the field to discombulate the huskies. As you said, their prey drive overrides their brains. We'll be sending your "bait" initiative out to other cats, who are rallying to our side.
Arwen is here. Must go!
Commander Bowie.
Y'mean I gotta watch out for birds too?
ReplyDeleteBussie Kissies
Buster
holy moly, that is the biggest bird ever! maybe its a decoy and there are Cats INSIDE the bird, like a trojan horse!!
ReplyDeleteI am so oblivious that many times on our walks there are cats around and I never notice them.
ReplyDeleteIt could be that I am so self absorbed though.
xoxoxo
CHelsea
What!! even the birds are spying on you.. This is scary...
ReplyDeleteWhat can we do to stop this??
~ fufu
I like to eat birds! I'm pretty sure I can eat those pesky cats too. You guys just let me know what I can do. I've got great "killer" instinct after living in the fields on my own before mom and dad found me.
ReplyDeleteAnd, since I weigh, like 119 pounds, I can always just lay on them and squish them too!! I can be a great Malamonster if needed.
Holly
We have bunnies. I started a program for them BuRP. It's going well for now.
ReplyDeleteTubey: The cat is CLEARLY spying on you!
ReplyDeleteMarvin: It was REAL! And HAD to be a spy ... don't you think?
Butchy & Snickers: This is YOUR birdie? Well, it's HUGE! And we'll do our best to chase him off. We wonder what he was doing on that roof!? Or as Storm said, "Maybe those neighbors USED to have a koi pond. Now they just have a pond." Ha roo.
Bowie: You WILL be stopped!
Arwen: You have our backing; you know that, don't you?
Buster: Birdies THIS big, yeah! We all have to be on guard!
Joe Stains! That's brilliant! Of course! A FLYING Trojan Horse! YIKES!
Chelsea: Ha roo roo roo!
Fu Fu: We must band together!
Holly: HULA Hoop to the rescue! Glad you're with us!
Jackie: We must learn more about this! Very interesting!

Ahem! A Marvin Poem I will recite for you now about "Stormy and Security......"
ReplyDeleteStormy is always so security aware,
Holding up the walls & taking great care.
She guards against evil herons and cats,
Stormy is on their evil case you can be sure of that!
The AO4 House will not come to any harm,
Mainly due I'm afraid to Stormy's right *arm.
Ta Da! I thank you!
*ps I know it is your *leg Stormy, but poetic licence etc. Plus I cannot think of a word which suitably rhymes with Leg......only "egg" and that's not much use in my work of artistic writing!

Marvin: What a COOL poem! Worth hearing MANY times over! Hey ... do you mind if I post it to our site on Saturday?
