How To Get Ice Cubes

Hi everypuppy! It's me - Amber!

I love ice cubes - don't you? I do. And I thought I'd share my technique with you about how to get one. No... I can't operate the thingy on the door of the magic cold box... but I do have another trick up my um... collar. Here's how it goes.

Step one. Stand right in front of the magic cold box. Stare intently at it. Wait.

If nothing happens, move to Step 2. Stare at Mom and send her a guilty mind-meld message.

You know I love ice. You know I can't get it for myself. Please? Please won't you let me have one little cube?

It works really well! And she'll give you cube after cube after cube ... until she finds the stash on the living room carpet. Or the puddle left by the ice cube thief. (There's a thief who roams the country, stealing ice cubes, leaving puddles in their place. It's horrible!)

I hope this helps all my fellow ice-lovers out there!

Love,
Amber

  1. Samuel and I like ice cubes! But, even better than that are pumpkin ice cubes!

See, mom takes pumpkin and mixes it with fat free vanilla yogurt and then puts it in ice cube trays to freeze it. Then, she just puts the pumpkin cubes in a freezer bag and gives them to us as treats. They are absolutely delicious!!

  3. ooops sorry we have been absent.

Our computer had a crisis or may be a nervous breakdown.. Our Virus Scan stuff (jeannie's technical words there!) ran out so we could not switch on the puter till this morning.

And it takes forever to catch up with everone.

Now, after having read your cute post about ice cube thief.....well I have to admit, I, Marvin, am an Ice Cube Addict. Ahem, a poem follows!

Did you guys know it is Burns Night tomorrow......? Well here is Marvin Ice Cube Lover The Bard of Bonnie Dunblane - A Poem for Burns Night....in the same style.

Ice Cubes in the morning, Ice Cubes in the night,

Ice Cubes make me dribble, Ice Cubes are alright.

Ice Cubes when its hot, Ice Cubes when its cold,

Ice Cubes when you are good and doing what your'e told.

Ice cubes in the Summer, Ice Cubes in The Fall.

Ice cubes when you are casual and not doing much at all.

Ice Cubes are the best, fun, cool and oh so frozen,

Give me ice cubes every day, even by the dozen.

But Ice Cubes best of all when you can dribble all over the house,

Ice Cubes can make you LISP AND THEY FALL RIGHT OUT YOUR MOUTH.

All upon the hooooman's carpet where they make a goooey mess,

That is when to depart from sucking Ice and drooling water is the best!

For this is when Biped Carpet Angst begins because damp floors are just such fun

  4. well, thank you blooming blogger, I pressed preview as I had not ended my poem....just to view what I had written but for some awful reason it decided to put it on your blog without me editing my final words.

    Stoooooopid blogger.

My poem does not rhyme and I look so silly now, with an unrhyming ICE CUBE saga.....never mind my poetic heart was in right place.

Ice cubes rule, they are the best!

    love and licks Marv xxxx

  7. We would like to thank you Amber, for teaching us the ways of the "guilty mind-meld" it works very well in lots of instances! You are sooooooo smart! We have a problem with ice theft in our home too, bet there's a cat behind it all!

  8. Holly: Those sound like YUMMY treats! Do you eat them on the living room carpet? That would be very fun!

Tubey: I think our friends K and Kali in Mexico have had more than a visit or two from the ice cube thief, too -- so it's an international problem!

Marvin: I LOVE your poetry - and this ice cube one is really the best! Bloggy must be jealous of your talent and that's why it ate part of your message. Or a cat did it.

M & M: Oooh, you have a new picture icon thingy! You both look so wonderful! Anyway ... yes, the mind-meld guilt trip is VERY effective! And thank roo for saying I'm smart -- I try, but I'm no Stormy! :) You think a cat could be the ice cube thief? Would that make it a cat burglar? Hee hee hee!

    Love,
    Ammy

  10. Ice cubes are great fun. Better is when there is a very cold puddle left for the bare foot human to step in.

  12. We like ice cubes too but only in the hot weather. It's too cold to like ice cubes right now. We have an ice cube thief too! Somehow puddles form ...

  14. Hey there Ammy and the rest of the Ao4...

thanks for the mind-meld tip. I'd use it for bones and treats. Ice cubes are kinda 'whatever' for me...

Now that I've mind-meld in my arsenal of 'get me what I want, ma' weapons, I'm feelin' real powerful. Uh huh.

I use the guilt one a lot. Seem to do okay with that. But you can always do better.

    Chow for now,

    Tin Tin xo

I think you should use the mind-meld trick to MAKE your humans teach you to jump up and press the ice cube button. Then you could treat EVERYONE to ice cubes!

  16. Frankie: Ice cubes are the secret ingredient for Sibe-tinis??!?!!? Wow, who knew? Were they invented by Iron Chef Siberia? :)

D'Azul Sibes: Hee hee hee! That would sure get a reaction around here.

    Fu Fu: Thank roo!

Dachsies: I like ice ALL the time! I'm not surprised the Ice Cube Thief is in Texas!

Joey: Does your mom get mad at the Ice Cube Thief or at Doo=== um, at Tanner?

Tin Tin! Since it's so hot where you live now, I'd use the Mind-meld guilt trip for ice cubes a LOT! They're such a treat!

Zach: I never thought of that! What a good idea!

    Love,
    Amber

  18. YOU should come to our house!
Our backyard is one huge icecube due to the -30 weather we are getting!

C'mon over - icecubes for everyone!

  19. T-man: We're Siberian Huskies. Define "cold"! :)

Jessie and Jake: Hi! We HAD piles and piles of snow, but I think the Ice Cube Thief is trying to take THAT, too! It keeps disappearing. :( I'll see if Zim will drive me up to your house! Thanks!
